    slow bar service

    Cozy stay near the town!

We spent 2 nights here and loved the old vibe of the place! The staff were super friendly and always ready to help. The beer garden was a nice touch. Food was decent too, had a nice meal and a good breakfast. Just wish the bar service was a bit quicker sometimes.

    historic charm
    clean bathroom
    welcoming staff
    air conditioning
    wifi connectivity
    mould issue

The Royal Hop Pole Wetherspoon in Tewkesbury captured my attention right away with its historic charm and unique architecture. The room felt cozy with a feature wall that hinted at its medieval origins. I appreciated having a clean bathroom and strong water pressure in the shower, which made for a refreshing start to each day. Staff were welcoming and attentive, ensuring that check-in was seamless. I enjoyed dining in the riverside beer garden. the atmosphere was relaxed, and the food was reliably good for a Wetherspoon. I did have a few complaints. The air conditioning wasn’t very effective, making the room a bit stuffy, especially on warmer days. The Wi-Fi connection was inconsistent at times, which made it difficult for me to stay connected. A bit of mould was noticeable in the bathroom, likely a challenge with such an old building.
